My name is Ryan Brown and I have been climbing for just over 5 years and part of the Thacher Climbing Coalition for 3 years. I joined the Thacher Climbing Coalition in the Fall of 2018 as a general member and shortly after became the Membership Chair of the Coalition. As a student at SUNY Albany, my life is already busy but I quickly fill any free time I have with TCC duties. I held the position of membership chair the previous two years (2018-20) but have passed the torch on. In 2019, I also joined the Thacher development team helping to put up a total of 10 new routes so far with many more being planned. For the TCC, I work on setting up events like the annual meeting, trail-work days, and coordinating with Thacher Park on climbing access and expansion. With this, my goals are to help expand Thacher Climbing Coalition’s influence and collaboration with the local community and keep opening new areas and routes for climbing!
