Members of the TCC board spoke on March 2nd to the public at the “Skiing States – the High Points Project” event. The presentation was hosted by the TCC and sponsored by Liberty Skis. Thacher Climbing Coalition member Mike Whelan covered ski mountaineering on the highest mountains in the United States over the last 20 years. There was an emphasis on Northeastern highpoints including Mount Marcy, Mount Mansfield and Mount Greylock.
Despite a heavy snowfall that day about 25 people were able to attend the event. Board Members Monica and Tom were able to update the public about information related to development and opening. After this event the Capital Region was hit with up to 3 feet of heavy snow which has resulted in delay of the opening of Thacher for the 2018 season.
